FreeHand MX11.0.2 |
FreeHand MX is used by design
professionals, whether they’re creating content for web or print. Since it’s a
fairly flexible piece of kit, it can handle everything from line art through to
animation, and it has a selection of powerful tools to make your work easier.
If you need to provide graphs then you’ll be pleased with the user friendly
graph tool that will save you a lot of time and hassle. This software works on
Windows and Mac, but Mac users should note that FreeHand MX won’t work with OS
X 10.6 or higher, so maybe think about getting something like the new Adobe
Illustrator instead.
Pros: FreeHand MX has a wide range of enhanced features that will keep even professional graphic designers happy. The extrude tool will help you to create stunning images which appear to be 3D and there is an excellent perspective tool. Because you can fully rotate the 3D images, this is an excellent programme for technical drawers.
Cons: This product isn’t being actively developed any more, and there haven’t been any updates to it for over four years, so it’s going to get outdated. If ultra-sleek graphics are what you need, then it’s probably worth upgrading to a newer programme.
Conclusion: Although it’s no longer being developed, for the money, FreeHand MX still has plenty going for it, particularly in graphing and technical illustration.
