You can use this software to record
your Windows screen. It's easy to use, but it doesn't come with all the bells
and whistles of other software products. This program will just capture your
screen to an AVI file. You can configure it to record audio from your sound
card simultaneously.
The video compressor is selected by using the settings dialog of the program. You can specify how many frames per second will be recorded, as well as the key frame rate of the output movie, from the same dialog. Depending on the codec you choose, it should be possible to customize further the video output. The audio stream's compression can also be customized.
The program can help you organize the captured files into folders. The user interface contains a shortcuts window, which supports drag-and-drop. You can easily move the AVI files you previously recorded into another folder by dragging them over the folder's shortcut. The program can also playback the file you recorded inside a preview window.
Pluses: Keyboard shortcuts can be defined for starting, stopping, or canceling the capture.
Drawbacks / flaws: When I captured my screen I also wanted to put a watermark on the generated video. This is not supported by the software. However, in the evaluation version, a watermark appears but it only tells you that you are running a non-registered version.
In conclusion: This software can and will capture your screen activity. It can also be used to preview the created AVI. That's about all it does.
